A popular Laois pub and restaurant has shared their latest electricity bill, and it is eye wateringly high.
Portlaoise Main Street eatery and bar Jeremiah Grant has received an ESB bill for €21,040.19 this March.
The business has posted an image of the bill on social media, simply stating 'there is no caption needed for this bad boy'.
Its shows that they had paid another huge bill of €14,705 just two months ago.
Local reaction is sympathetic.
"God its absolutely outrageous. How do they expect businesses to continue. God this country is a joke," one person said.
Mountmellick restaurant Hare's Corner proprietor Emma O'Connell also offered empathy.
"We feel yer pain, hopefully ye got the grant sorted we got a 37k bill it's shocking," she said.
"How can businesses survive that?," another person said.
