The opening of the first IKEA design centre in Naas in 2021.
Swedish furniture retailer, IKEA has confirmed when it expects to launch a new design and ordering service in Laois.
A new IKEA ‘Plan and Order Point’ is planned for Portlaoise.
Four of the offshoot interior design centres are already open, in Cork, Drogheda, Naas and Dublin.
The company has confirmed to the Leinster Express / Laois Live just when they expect to open in Portlaoise.
"IKEA is hoping to open a fifth Irish Plan and Order Point in Portlaoise later this year.
The service offers consultations with IKEA’s home interior designers, to help and guide them in planning their dream kitchen, living room or wardrobe.
Customers can also order products from across the full IKEA range. All products are delivered to where the customer prefers, but no products are available to be taken home immediately.
In a further announcement, IKEA is collaborating with Tesco to launch a new ‘Collect Near You’ service, where customers can collect from Tesco stores.
The new collection points, in select Tesco carparks, will allow customers to collect their IKEA order for free on orders over €200 or €15 for all other orders.
The test-and-trial will be launched with the first three sites in Tesco Mitchelstown, Tesco Drogheda and Naas from May 15, with Limerick, Galway, Cork, Waterford, Tipperary and Wexford to follow later in 2023.
