Ireland’s largest tile and wood flooring retailer, with 26 stores nationwide, is opening a branch in Laois.
Cork based company Right Price Tiles is to move into the former Xtravision shop on Bull Lane in Portlaoise town centre.
The business has announced that they are opening the store in Laois, and are now recruiting staff.
"New store opening in Portlaoise. We are looking for Managerial and Sales staff for our brand new store."
The 4,000 sqft premises has stood vacant since Xtravision shut down in 2000, except during 2022 when its owner, Mullhall's SuperValu owner Seamus Mullhall welcomed a pop up free clothes shop for local Ukraine refugees.

It was formerly the Colliseum Cinema for many years, with Bull Lane locally called Colliseum Lane.
The tile company is reported to be planning to open there in March.
CVs can be emailed to storemanager.athlone@rightpricetiles.ie
As well as new jobs, it marks a return to selling hardware items in the town centre. Millers Hardware shop was located beside the building for many decades.
