An Irish Mexican restaurant chain is coming to Laois.
Namo Ireland which already has restaurants in Clonmel, Carlow and Kilkenny, is planning to open a burrito bar in Portlaoise, at Laois Shopping Centre. The restaurants sell burritos, nachos and quesadillas.
A planning application has been lodged to Laois County Council. More below.

Laois Shopping Centre owners Lindat Ltd, seek planning permission to amalgamate two existing ground floor retail units, numbers 19 and 20, into one larger unit, beside the former Ulster Bank, and several doors away from the Eddie Rocket's restaurant.
They also seek permission for a change of use from Retail to Restaurant for the units.

They propose to open seven days a week, from 9am to 9pm weekdays, and 10pm Thursday to Saturday. They say the restaurant will employ between three and five staff each day.
The restaurant would seat 50, and the shopping centre say existing parking spaces will suffice.
A planning decision is due by December 2.
