A Laois hair and beauty salon has announced that it is closing down, to the disappointment of its loyal customers.
Society Salon on Main Street in Portarlington will shut the doors for good on April 19.
The announcement was made by proprietor Ian Phelan on Tuesday, April 8, who cited "staff and other pressures" as the reason.
"It's with a lot of sadness that we are announcing that Society Salon Portarlington will open its doors for the final day on Saturday 19th April.
"This has been an extremely tough decision and we have loved being part of the business community in Portarlington but with staff and other pressures the salon will be closing.
"I would like to thank all the staff and clients that have been with us over the years, your support has been amazing," Mr Phelan said in a statement on social media.

The owner says that customers can honour their gift vouchers at their second Society Salon in Portlaoise, formerly called The Hair Gallery.
"If you have any vouchers we encourage you to come in and use them or of course you can use them in our Portlaoise branch, We will of course be phoning all clients booked in after April 19th and we would be delighted to see any of the salon's clients in our Portlaoise salon.
"Thank you again for all your support over the years and hope to chat to some of you in Portlaoise, and a huge thank you and best of luck to Hayley and the girls, it's been my pleasure working with you all, Ian." he said.
Their Portarlington customers have sent many wishes of goodwill and praise of the staff.
"Some very lucky salon will snap up Hayley. She's a brilliant hairdresser and a wonderful person," one said.
"Best of luck Haley and Casey very say to hear that your closing after all the years," another said.
