Penneys in Laois is in line for a huge expansion and modernisation, with confirmation from the company that it is aware of the Laois demand.
Primark Ltd spoke to the Leinster Express / Laois Live about its upcoming planning application.
The company has only one store in Laois or Offaly, based in Laois Shopping Centre in Portlaoise.
A Primark spokesperson said:
"We know how much our customers in Laois would love a bigger Penneys store and we too would love to make that happen.
"We have lodged a planning application to expand our current store in Laois Shopping Centre, and we hope to share more details on our plans when we can.”
The company has lodged a planning application to Laois County Council which would double the size of its ageing store in Laois Shopping Centre. Read about it here.
While it is the third time in five years for an expansion application on the store, it is the first time that Primark Ltd itself has sought the permission, while altering the previously approved plans.
