Laois locals are abuzz with excitement following the announcement of a new African Street food takeaway in Portlaoise.
African Street Food will open at Gandon Court in Fairgreen Village, with their grand opening occurring on June 27 at 2pm.
There will be free puff and food tasting on the day.
The business is owned by Saymama Cuisine, a family owned business founded in Portlaoise in 2016.

"We started with a vision of introducing African food to the rest of Ireland, most especially, our Irish brothers and sisters that have never been to Africa or tasted African cuisines," the founders have said.
"In 2018, we had our first breakthrough, catering for over 500 people in the Laois African day celebration. The feedback was awesome.
"In 2022, we won contracts to cater for the African Day Celebration in County Laois, County Carlow, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Dublin African Day Film Festival. We partnered with Laois County Council and had our presence in the World Ploughing Championship in Ratheniska, Co. Laois."
The business caters to parties and festivals, serving a wide range of African cuisine.
