A Laois pub has been nominated for the best Newcomer of the Year award at the Irish Bar of the Year awards.
The Make & Mark in Fairgreen, Portlaoise is one of 16 gastropubs nominated for the award.
Known for their food and hilarious social media presence, the pub serves traditional meals, pub grub, fantastic cocktails and excellent entertainment.
Over 1000 pubs across Ireland have entered the competition, with a full list of finalists announced.

This year’s event will take place on Monday, 18th August 2025, at the prestigious Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road.
