A Laois business has been named Retail Florist of the Year.

Abbeyleix business House of Blooms Flower Bar was awarded Retail Florist of the Year by a competition ran by a well known Dublin Florist, Kay's Flower School.

The awards recognise exceptional 'floral excellence' across the country.

The awards had over 18 categories open to nominations, and the Laois flower bar ran by Laura and Jason Phelan has won.

"Thank you so so much to every single one of you who voted for us," the couple said on social media.

"We really have the best community, best customers, best family and friends. We are so grateful for each and every single one of you," they thanked.

There was an outpour of support from Laois locals on social media, congratulating the family business on their success.

The family run business was first opened in 2024.

The awards are recognised nationally for their support of Ireland's flower industry.
