The Lavish beauty salon in Mountmellick on the opening day of its new premises in 2023.
A busy Laois beauty salon has shocked its customers with the sad news that it is closing down.
Lavish Beauty in Mountmellick owned by proprietor Nicole Marnell, will close its doors on November 30.
She had run her salon for seven years, employing a number of staff. Such was its success that it had moved to a larger premises in the SuperValu primary care centre shopping complex just over two years ago.

Nicole broke her news to clients on Wednesday evening, October 22, asking clients to use up their gift vouchers.
"It is with a very heavy heart we announce that from the 30th of November we will be closing our doors to Lavish Beauty.
"We couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful clients we have had the privilege of providing out services to.
"We regret that we are no longer able to keep our doors open, but we look back over the last seven years with pride and accomplishment.
"We please advise all who have vouchers, not to let them go to waste. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we will do our best to accommodate all our clients over the next 5 weeks.

The news has been greeted with dismay by clients, one saying "an unmeasurable loss to the town", another saying "shocking so hard to keep doors open now with cost of everything".
The recent Budget announced a tax break for businesses including beauty salons, from 13.5% to 9%. However the lower rate does not start until July 2026.
