Businesses invited to Mountrath to connect and collaborate

New workshop for Laois eco and wellness tourism businesses

Laois based eco and wellness tourism businesses are invited to attend an exciting networking and development event at Bloom HQ in Mountrath.

This interactive workshop is designed for business owners and operators in the wellness sector who want to connect, collaborate, and grow.

This event will provide an introduction into the wellness tourism industry and focus on how to collaborate and grow a business.

Attendees will hear from Neil Dennehy from Highest Potential.

Mr Dennehy will outline the growing potential within the wellness tourism landscape, the economic potential of a trillion-dollar industry and how collaboration can support business growth. He will also deliver some interactive wellness activities as part of the workshop on the day.

"The development and growth of eco and wellness tourism businesses in the Midlands is essential to driving a sustainable and vibrant tourism sector in the region," said Ms Regina Dunne, Laois Just Transition Regenerative Tourism Activator.

"These businesses not only create unique visitor experiences but also contribute to local communities and the green economy. By working together, we can position the Midlands as a leading destination for regenerative tourism," she highlighted.

At this workshop, there are opportunities for Laois locals to share their business ideas or expansion plans with Ms Dunne. Business owners can also receive expert advice on business supports from the Laois Local Enterprise Office.

The workshop aims to learn how LEADER funding, provided by Laois Partnership Company, can help your business thrive.

Laois Tourism and Laois Chamber Alliance members will be in attendance, there to show you how you can elevate your visibility and opportunities.

"LEO Laois offers a wide range of supports to help businesses in this sector start, scale, and succeed," said Ms Evelyn Reddin, Head of Enterprise at Laois County Council.

"From mentoring and training to financial assistance, our goal is to empower entrepreneurs to turn great ideas into thriving enterprises. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to learn about these supports and connect with others who share your vision," she explained.

Ms Joann Nolan of Laois Tourism also recommended this workshop.

"Building a strong network of eco and wellness tourism businesses will amplify the region’s appeal and help every member reach more visitors and create unforgettable experiences. Collaboration is key," Ms Nolan said.

"When businesses work together, we can showcase the best of Laois and attract tourists seeking authentic, sustainable, and wellness-focused travel."

Laois County Council encourage Laois businesses to bring along a business card or flyer and take advantage of this chance to network with others in the industry.

"Let’s make 2026 a year of growth, collaboration, and connectivity for Laois wellness tourism," the Council said.

The event will take place on January 8, 2026.

The Tourism Activator Programme is funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund.
