Discount store dealz celebrates five years in Ireland after starting its first store in the Laois Shopping Centre

Discount retailer Dealz marked five years of trading in Ireland and Portlaoise last week also celebrating its partnership with the Make-A-Wish charity.

Since opening in September 2011 Dealz will have successfully launched 56 stores nationwide in Ireland including Portlaoise, creating over 1,100 Irish jobs. The Portlaoise branch in the Laois Shopping Centre was one of the first two branches open by the discount chain at the height of the recession.

Dealz Portlaoise also said is proud of the work it has done with charity partner Make-A-Wish Ireland over the past five years.

Dealz said that since launching in Ireland, store staff in Portlaoise have supported the charity who grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life threatening illnesses.

To date, Dealz has raised a €200,000 for the charity through various fundraising activities.

Speaking about the Dealz landmark anniversary in Ireland, CEO Kevin O’Bryne stated: ‘We are delighted to be celebrating our fifth year of trading here in Ireland and continuing to offer customers amazing value. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity and to hitting the next fundraising milestone for this worthy charity’.
