The Minister for Transport will consider delivering the cash for a key school access route in Portlaoise

The Minister met Charlie Flanagan and Fine Gael councillors last week at the N80 Southern Circular Route. The final section of the road depends on Minster Varadkar’s budget.

“My Department obviously has a number of considerations to make ahead of next months Budget. It was a good opportunity to look at the route and I will continue to liaise with Dep Flanagan and the Portlaoise councillors ahead of a final decision,” he said.

Dep Flanagan said the road is important the section is the final piece of the jigsaw for the road.

“It is all the more prevalent given the fact that 3 primary schools just opened along the route with a further three schools due to open at Summerhill in 2015,” he said.
