AONTAS Adult Learners’ Festival took place recently in Laois and centres throughout Ireland.

The festival celebrated Adult Education and its benefits. Portlaoise Adult Education Centre, Laois and Offaly Education Training Board had a number of events throughout the week including three award ceremonies where FETAC Certificates were presented to students.

The newly opened centre in the heart of the town is a hub of activity with the following services under its roof; Adult Learning Service, Community Education, AEGIS (Adult Education Guidance Information Service) and Skills for Work.

Learners praised the new centre saying how busy it is and with so many services under one roof it makes the step to Adult Education easier.
