Car, cash and drugs seized on motorway in Laois

Gardai seized a car, cash and drugs after stopping a learner driver for speeding on the motorway in Laois. 

Gardai said the vehicle was being driven by a learner driver who was allegedly 40 kms over the speed limit. 

“Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped this vehicle after it was detected travelling 160kph on the M7 yesterday,” Gardai said. 

“Cannabis and a large quantity of cash was discovered in the vehicle during a search.

The driver who was a Learner Permit holder was arrested and the vehicle seized,” Gardai added.
