Christmas market set to spread the Christmas cheer.
The Dunamaise Arts Centre has announced it will host its first Christmas Market this year featuring a selection of local artists and makers.
The market will run for three festive days from Thursday to Saturday, November 28 to 30 with free entry for all visitors.
Each night as the market ends there will be a festive concert in the theatre with 65 Kitchen Choir. Limited tickets are available so people are encouraged to book early.
The Christmas market has been curated by Rebecca Deegan, local artist, who will offer a diverse range of holiday gifts and artisan products. Visitors will also enjoy festive food and beverages, including mulled wine, teas, coffees, and seasonal treats, provided by Laois Taste and the Dunamaise Bar. CONTINUE READING BELOW PHOTO
In addition to the market there will be creative workshops for all ages. On Thursday there will be an adult Christmas ornament and jewellery workshop. On Saturday a family arts and crafts table will be held throughout the day.
Christmas Lights & Santa’s Arrival
On Friday, November 29th, 6:30 PM – Join the festive cheer at the Portlaoise Town Christmas Lights Ceremony on Main Street! Shoppers are invited back to the market afterward for seasonal treats, and Dunamaise festive elves will guide guests back to Dunamaise Arts Centre.
On Saturday, November 30th – A memorable meet-and-greet with Santa himself! Families can capture a holiday keepsake with Santa in a cosy photo area with local photographer Terry Conroy, enjoy holiday crafts, and create special treats with Brie’s Bakes (subject to availability over the day).
