Abbeyleix House and Farm is pleased to announce the return of its much-loved Annual Christmas Market in the run up to Christmas.
Set in the heart of the historic Abbey Leix estate, the Christmas Market promises a festive day out for all ages with a packed schedule of seasonal attractions, entertainment, and shopping.
The annual event, which takes place at the end of November, is a celebration of local talent and festive cheer in the picturesque settings of the Laois country home of billionaire and Stripe co-founder, Limerick man John Collison.
In a statment to the Leinster Express the organisers said this year’s festive season event will feature a vibrant Christmas Craft Market, showcasing unique handmade goods from a variety of talented makers, including Anthology and Daily Dose (both Abbeyleix-based), The Little Cheese Stall, Smudge Studio, L&J Chocolate, Brownbear Creations, and Pottery Corner.

Visitors can also enjoy a wide selection of festive food vendors, including Kelly Lou Cakes, Rural Vagabonds, Grill King, Crepe Wagon, and Brewbox, which offer everything from sweet treats to hot food and drinks.
There’s a host of family fun and festive activities to keep visitors entertained on the day.
Some of the highlights for families include: Santa’s Grotto (note: tickets are sold out), Reindeer Trail & Giant Lollipop Woodland – an enchanting experience for children, Face painting and Mrs Claus storytelling and there will be live musical entertainment throughout the day, including an exceptional performance by the ever popular Timahoe Men’s Choir.

A special art exhibition will be held in the estate’s church, featuring original works created by artists who recently attended a retreat at Abbeyleix House and Farm. All artworks will be available for purchase. Artists include: Alison McEvoy; Tina Claffey, Mike Rafter; Leiko Uchiyama; and Elke Thonnes.

This year’s market will support EMBRACE Farm and Laois Down Syndrome, with additional project-based donations going to Abbeyleix National South School, Scoil Mhuire Abbeyleix, and other local charities.
