Laois village invites you the Christmas Festival of Lights

Ballinakill Festival of lights

People from far and wide in Laois and beyond are being invited get in the mood for Christmas to the Ballinakill Christmas Lights Festival.

Christmas Lights Festival Committee is delighted to be hosting the event again on Saturday, December 10 from 6pm to 8pm.

Preparations have been ongoing for the festive fair and official switch on of the lights on the streets and the village tree on the big day.

If you want to have a stall on the night of the the organisers say you can contact Sharon on 0863458540 ring or text or send a message to their Facebook page. There is no charge but people can make a donation for the upkeep of the lights as each year they have to maintain the existing lights and replace the lights that no longer work. The funds for this come from Christmas Lights Festival.

Another fundraiser for the lights is the Christmas draw. You can buy lines for the draw for Christmas hampers in local shops and pubs McGraths, Brennans, O'Shaughnessys and Drurys. Lines will also be for sale on the night of the festival with all proceeds go back into the lights. The winners will be announced at the end of the festival.
