Woman accused in Laois court of selling non-essential items in Portlaoise

Essential retail outlets will remain open during Covid-19 lockdown

A woman appeared in court for selling non essential items during the Covid-19 lockdown. 

Anne O’Rourke, 36, of 74 The Fairways, Abbeyleix was in court accused of selling non essential items during the Covid lockdown at Mr Price in Portlaoise on November 14, 2020. 

Judge Andrew Cody said the case related to selling goods other than essential items. 

Sergeant JJ Kirby said a large file had gone to the DPP in relation to the matter and there were two co-accused. He said the DPP had directed that the matter be dealt with in the District Court.
