Man hospitalised after incident in Laois town with investigation launched
A man required hospital treatment after an incident in Mountmellick, with Laois Gardaí launching an investigation.
Gardaí were alerted to an incident which took place in College Avenue, on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, February 15 and 16, from 12.30am to 1am.
A man suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was taken first to Portlaoise and then to Tullamore hospital, and later discharged.
The Gardaí are carrying out door to door enquiries in the housing estate.
They appeal to anyone with information to contact them in Portlaoise Garda Station.
