Portlaoise Garda Station
Portlaoise Gardai are appealing for information in relation to a Ballyfin burglary during which the thieves ransacked a house.
The appeal follows the burglary of the house between 11am and 11.30am on Sunday morning, March 28. It's understood the house was ransacked during the burglary.
Gardai are seeking information in relation to any unusual cars or vehicles in the area around the time. They are particularly keen to view any CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured images of a vehicle in the area in or around that time on Sunday morning.
Gardai are also anxious to hear from anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity or callers in the area in the days or weeks leading up to the crime.
A spokesperson urged members of the public to contact Gardai if something appears suspicious no matter how trivial it seems.
“We encourage people if they do see something suspicious to call it in,” a garda spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said even if it doesn’t seem like a big deal, people should make contact as gardai would prefer to check on something rather than visit a crime scene later on.
Anyone who has any information in relation to the burglary at Ballyfin is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
