Gardaí attached to Easter Region Divisions involved
Rolex watches, thousands of euro in cash, vehicles and other items have been seized by Gardaí investigating what they say claim is a criminal gang impersonating gardaí
Garda HQ said that as part of the investigation into "the activities of a criminal gang involved in theft and fraud" from gardaí impersonation they have arrested two men in their 30s, a man in his 50s, a man in his 60s and a woman her 50s.
In an update on April 25, they said the suspects had been detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 at 5 separate Garda stations across the Eastern Region of which the Laois Offaly Garda Division is part. One of the suspects is being detained at Portlaoise Garda Station.
Gardaí reported that six searches in three counties across the Dublin and Eastern Regions have been completed. During the searches investigating Gardaí say they seized the following items:
