The M8 Dublin-Cork motorway
The owner of a car detected travelling at 182 kph on the motorway in Laois has been disqualified from driving.
Pepe Rostas, with an address at Alderpark Court, Tallaght, Dublin is the registered owner of the car which was detected speeding on the M8 at Addergoole, Cullohill on November 29, 2022.
A sitting of Portlaoise District Court was told the car was detected doing 182kph in a 120km zone by a speed camera. The court was told the defendant, who wasn’t present, didn’t have any previous convictions.
“It is a huge speed,” said Judge Andrew Cody.
He fined the man €400 and banned him from driving for six months.
