Probation act for woman who 'keyed' ex-partner’s Audi in Laois

Man remanded on €35,000 Laois drugs charge

A woman who ‘keyed’ her ex-partner’s Audi was dealt with through the probation act. 

Emma Williams, 37, with an address at  18 Woodgrove Lawns, Portlaoise damaged the rear wheel arch and side door of an Audi A6 on the Mountrath Road, Portlaoise on December 15, 2020. 

Aine Rushe BL said her client had the remainder of the  €500 compensation in court. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the defendant was identified on CCTV causing damage by “keying” the car. 

Ms Rushe said her client had been suffering with medical issues at the time. She said the woman had paid €300 at her last appearance and had a further €200 in court. 

Judge Andrew Cody said he would deal with the matter through the probation act.
