Ciaran Mullooly is appealing for help to find a video camera missing from the National Ploughing Championships site in Ratheniska.

The former RTE Midlands Correspondent has reported the theft of a camera to Gardai in Portlaoise. It was used on his stand at the event in Laois last week.

“Robbery in Ratheniska? Sad to report a missing video camera from Stand 382 on Row 25 today . Now reported to @GardaTraffic  and @NPAIE  but if you happened to see it - please call me on 087 2433201,” the former RTE newsman posted on social  media.

Mr Mullooly said the Sony video recorder had cost around €2,000 a number of years ago. However, he is more concerned about a tape which was on the camcorder.

"There is a tape on the camera with a very sentimental video. My own young lad's christening," Mr Mullooly revealed.

Ciaran had been at the stand over the three days of the National Ploughing Championships signing copies of his new book,‘The Future is Now’.

Anyone who has any information in relation to the camera can contact Ciaran on 087 2433201.
