Laois Gardai seized an Audi car despite recent stormy conditions.
An image of the Audi car being placed on a tow truck was posted on social media by Laois Offaly Gardai.
“We’re out in rain, hail, snow and even storms detecting road traffic offences.
“Since November we’ve been able to check the insurance status of all vehicles on our Mobility Devices - on Sunday night during Storm Isha we seized this car in Laois for being uninsured.
“The driver had cancelled the car's insurance policy almost immediately after taking it out,” Gardai explained.
Gardai in Laois have seized vehicles for not having insurance in recent weeks.
The seizures are taking place thanks to a new Garda Mobility App feature that allows insurance details to be checked in real time.
