Laois Gardaí said thieves targeted a number of vehicles in Portlaoise last night.

“We would like to remind you of the following. Ensure that your vehicle is locked, alarmed and parked safely in a well lit up area. Store your car keys away from windows and letterboxes. Don’t store valuables in your car but if you have to, keep them out of sight,” Gardaí said.
“Park your vehicle within CCTV view if you have a CCTV system at your home/premises.
Always report any suspicious activity to Gardaí. In urgent cases dial 999 or 112,” Gardaí said.
They urged people to download the An Garda Síochána Property App.
“It will give you the facility to record the unique information associated with your property,” Gardaí said.
Meanwhile, Laois Offaly Gardaí seized knives when they searched a man in Co Offaly.
“Edenderry Garda out patrolling today stopped and searched local male. He was found in possession of the items pictured. Charged and attending courts tomorrow morning,” they stated.
