Man allegedly had heroin for sale or supply in Laois

The defendant appeared before Portlaoise District Court

A man has been sent for trial in relation to drugs and money laundering in Laois. 

Kenneth Kelly (36) of 22 O’Moore Place, Portlaoise was served with a book of evidence at Portlaoise District Court. 

He is accused of having heroin and alprazolam for sale or supply at his address on January 11, 2024. He is also accused of possession of benzodiazepine, a knife and of money laundering at the same address on the same date. 

Garda Lisa Murray gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on the accused. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the DPP had directed that the defendant should be sent forward for trial to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court sitting on June 11. 

Judge Nicola Andrews granted legal aid for two counsel and sent the defendant forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court on June 11.
