Gardaí in Laois seized a vehicle in Borris-in-Ossory after they say it turned away from a checkpoint they were conducting.

“Abbeyleix Gardai were conducting a checkpoint this week in Borris In Ossory when they observed this vehicle turn away from the checkpoint. It was stopped a short time later and it was discovered that this dangerous manoeuvre was performed by the driver as the tax had expired since 2023,” Laois gardaí stated.

The vehicle was subsequently seized and a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) was issued.
