Laois gardaí are appealing for the public to be vigilant after three incidents were reported of suspicious door-to-door callers targeting older and vulnerable people.
The suspicious activity was reported in the Ballyroan and Ballybrittas area.
"We really need you to help us again by having that conversation with the older or more vulnerable in our communities. We have had 3 more incidents this morning in Laois where persons are calling to the homes of older and more vulnerable people," said gardaí.
"This time in the Ballyroan and Ballybrittas area. Report any suspicious activities to us immediately using 999. Remind them that Garda do not call looking to check to see if your money is counterfeit and take it from you."
