Laois Gardaí say motorist driving erratically tried to give false details

Gardaí on patrol in Mountrath stopped a vehicle they say was being driven erratically and discovered its tax was expired for 548 days.

"Mountrath Gardaí out and about on patrol last night stopped this car for driving erratically. Upon further inspection of the vehicle it was discovered that the tax was expired for 548 days," Gardaí said in a social media post.

"The vehicle's National Car Test certificate was expired and the driver was uninsured. Driver initially tried to give Gardaí false details but further investigation showed the driver's real identity. Driver will be prosecuted for above offences."
