Gardaí have released images of drugs seized in Laois at the weekend which are valued at over €20,000.
One man was arrested when the €20,200 worth of cannabis was seized along with pills and a quantity of suspected counterfeit cigarettes during the planned search in Portlaoise on Sunday morning.
“On the 11th of August 2024, the Laois Drugs Unit assisted by the Armed Support Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and Uniform Members from the Portlaoise District conducted a search in Portlaoise, Laois,” Gardaí said.
During the course of the search, cannabis herb to the value of €20,200, Zopilcone tablets, Alprazolam tablets and counterfeit cigarettes valued at €1,250 were seized. The pills are estimated to be worth €350.
Gardaí said a man in his 50s was arrested and has been subsequently charged and brought before the courts.
