Gardaí have appealed for information in relation to an alleged assault at the Electric Picnic on Saturday night.
It’s understood a man suffered facial injuries during the incident at the Heineken Tent at around 10.30pm. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.
“Portlaoise Gardaí are seeking the public's assistance to help progress an ongoing investigation into an incident that occurred at 10:30pm on 17th August 2024 at the Heineken Tent area near the main stage at Electric Picnic,” gardaí said in an online post.
Gardaí said they are specifically requesting:
"Mobile phone footage or pictures of the assault that took place at the mentioned time and location.
Any footage or images of a male who was approximately 6 feet tall, clean-shaven, wearing a white T-shirt and a bright yellow bucket hat. He was also described as having a Midlands accent and appeared to be in his early 20s.
Any footage of an altercation that occurred around 10:30pm at the Heineken Tent near the main stage at the event."
Anyone with relevant footage, images or information is asked please come forward. “Your assistance could be crucial in helping us,” gardai said.
