A man appeared in court accused of robbing a shop in Portlaoise earlier this year. 

Adam Keogh(30) of 37 St Brigids Place, Portlaoise is accused of robbery at the Esker Hills Shop in Portlaoise on March 29, 2024. It is alleged the defendant stole vapes to the value of €390. 

Solicitor Barry Fitzgerald said there would be no bail application at this stage. Mr Fitzgerald explained that his client had appeared before Nenagh District Court and had been remanded in Limerick Prison.  

He asked that the defendant be remanded to Cloverhill Prison to appear again at Portlaoise District Court by video link in two weeks.  

Judge Nicola Andrews remanded the defendant in custody to reappear before Portlaoise District Court by video link on September 16.
