Man accused of money laundering in Laois

Court Service says Portlaoise courthouse kept clean with low numbers

A book of evidence is to be served on a man accused of money laundering in Laois. 

Jiri Cervenak (32) of 397 Market Mews, Maryborough Village, Portlaoise is accused of money laundering the sum of €7,007 at PTSB Main Street, Portlaoise on April 8, 2022. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby told a sitting of Portlaoise District Court that the DPP had directed the case be heard in the circuit court.  He said the accused was facing one count of money laundering and he asked that the matter be adjourned for five weeks in order for a book of evidence to be prepared.

Judge Nicola Andrews adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on October 21 for service of a book of evidence. She granted legal aid to solicitor Philip Meagher.
