The break in has prompted Laois Gardaí to issue advise to prevent car break-ins.
Gardaí have issued an appeal to the public to never keep valuables in your vehicle after a car was broken into in Ballinakill. The incident happened on Friday, January 17 between 4.25pm and 5pm at the carpark in Heywood, Ballinakill.
"Can landowners in the area check their property for items that may be discarded following this theft," said a Garda spokesperson.
"When parking at any amenity area or in general can you make sure there are no items of value left in your car. Any information to Abbeyleix Garda station please 0578730580."
The break in has prompted Laois Gardaí to issue the following advise to prevent car break-ins.
"Remember to remove all valuables from your vehicle – don’t leave temptation on display. Lock your car every time, even if you’re just stepping away for a moment. Double-check that windows and doors are secured before you walk away. Together, we can help prevent these incidents from happening again. Let’s work as a community to keep our streets safe. "
