Mountmellick Garda Station
A major garda operation targeting illegal drugs is underway in Mountmellick.
It’s understood two men have been arrested and an as yet unquantified amount of cocaine has been seized.
It’s believed the seizure could be one of the largest ever in Laois.
The Leinster Express understands Gardaí and the Revenue’s Customs raided a garage in the town at around 10am this morning.
The operation, which is ongoing, involved dozens of officers.
Revenue and An Garda Siochana have been contacted in relation to the operation.
