Two cars were seized in Laois
Laois Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Portlaoise on Thursday night last and seized 2 vehicles.
Both vehicles were being driven in the town by learner permit holders who were driving unaccompanied.
The two drivers also had no car insurance. Court proceedings commenced, Gardaí said.
One Facebook user commented, "Good job, hope they were adhering to speed limits, we never know how dangerous are these uninsured drivers with no L plates displayed."

Another user said, "Scrap the cars, large fine and 5 year ban. Maybe it might save a few lives."
