Laois Gardaí are appealing for information following the theft of a car in Ballylinan this morning.
Gardaí said a Toyota Vitz car was stolen from a car park at Grace Avenue, Gracefield, Ballylinan at around 1am this morning.
They said cars were also opened and searched in the area and change was taken from one car.
Separately in Stradbally, gardaí are continuing to investigate the theft of a wallet from a car at Brockley Park on Sunday night. They say there was no sign of forced entry into the car.
Laois Gardaí have urged people to lock their vehicles and not to leave any valuables in their cars.
Anyone with information in relation to any of the incidents is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
