Woman accused of violent disorder in Laois pub

A woman appeared in court accused of violent disorder in a Laois pub.

Julie McDonagh (26) of 54 Boughlone Way, Bellingham, Portlaoise is accused of violent disorder at the Welcome Inn, Market Square, Portlaoise on August 10, 2024. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the DPP had directed that the case proceed on indictment at the circuit court.

Judge Susan Fay granted bail subject to a number of conditions which included an undertaking that the woman stays out of public houses in Portlaoise. 

She granted legal aid and remanded the woman on bail to reappear before Portlaoise District Court on April 7 for service of a book of evidence.
