Allegedly had drugs for sale or supply at Laois shop

The drugs were allegedly discovered at Cloud 9 Convenience Store in Mountmellick

Directions were sought in relation to the case of a man accused of possessing drugs for sale or supply in a Laois shop. 

Abdul Iqbal (32) of 93 Mostrim Oaks, Ballymahon Road, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford is accused of having cannabis for sale or supply at Cloud 9 Convenience Store, Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick on March 4, 2025. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby requested an adjournment in the case for directions. 

“The allegation is over the threshold at which I can direct,” said Sgt Kirby. 

He requested a two month adjournment for DPP directions. 

Judge Susan Fay adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court  on May 12 for DPP directions.
