Laois cyclist hospitalised in Portlaoise road crash

Gardaí in Portlaoise are investigating a road traffic accident involving a single vehicle and a cyclist. 

Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision involving a car and cyclist that occurred on April 4, 2025, on the Mountmellick Road in Portlaoise.

The incident occurred at approximately 8pm.

The cyclist, a man in his 50's, was struck by the car. The man was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
