Three juveniles have been arrested following a high-speed chase through County Laois, a Garda spokesperson has confirmed.

On the Bank Holiday Monday evening, a stolen vehicle fled from Dublin through to Junction 15 on the M7, between Portlaoise and Monasterevin.

The chase went on for a considerable amount of time, with a portion of the chase taking place between Kildare Village and Ballybrittas.

The offending vehicle fled down the wrong side of the motorway, and collided with a third party vehicle on the road.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital for assessment.

The vehicle came to a stop on the M7 in the Kildare area.  Three males, aged in their teens, were arrested and taken to a Garda Station in South Dublin.

One of these males has been charged and appeared before the Children’s Court, Smithfield, Dublin 7, on Tuesday April 22.
