Laois Offaly Gardaí arrested a driver who was detected at twice the speed limit.
The incident prompted gardaí to ask drivers to "please slow down" on the roads.
The motorist was detected by Offaly Roads Policing Unit doing 106kph in a 50kph zone.

"Offaly RPU(Roads Policing Unit) detected driver travelling at 106kph in a 50km zone. Driver arrested and charged to appear in court. Please slow down," Gardaí said.
