Woman fined for parking in disabled bay in Laois

The woman wasn't present when the case was called at Portlaoise District Court

Carlow man fined €100 for parking car in disabled bay

A fine was issued to the owner of a car which was parked in a disabled space in Portlaoise. 

Amy O’Shea of 17 Clonrooske View, Portlaoise, was accused of parking in a disabled bay without a permit at Main Street, Portlaoise, on December 10 last. 

A garda told a sitting of Portlaoise District Court that he spotted a 12CE silver Ford Focus which was registered to the accused parked in a disabled bay without a permit on the date in question. He issued a fine which went unpaid. He said the defendant, who was not present in court,  had 40 previous convictions. 

Judge Andrew Cody convicted the woman and fined her €300 with six months to pay.
