Lorry driver accused of dangerous driving in Laois

The man appeared before Portlaoise District Court

Abbeyleix Main Street in Laois.

A lorry driver appeared in court accused of dangerous driving in Laois. 

Joseph Douglas (48) of 62 Griffin Park, Trim, Co Meath, is accused of dangerous driving at Main Street, Abbeyleix, on November 15, 2024. 

Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick asked about the allegation at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court. 

Judge Andrew Cody said the defendant was accused of dangerous driving on Main Street in Abbeyleix. 

Ms Fitzpatrick said “the accused had understood it was careless” driving.

She requested an adjournment in order to consult with her client. 

Judge Cody adjourned the matter back to Portlaoise District Court on September 25.
