A man appeared in court accused of possessing stolen property in Laois.
Andrew Conroy (55) of 21 Lakeglen, Portlaoise but who provided an address at 20 O’Moore Place, Portlaoise, is accused of possessing a stolen backpack containing a laptop, Nokia and Samsung mobile phone and ear pods on the Block Road, Portlaoise on July 13, 2025.
The defendant is further accused of trespass and stealing €9.90 in coins and runners valued at €100 from a property on Main Street in Portlaoise on July 27 last.
Garda Sergeant Jason Hughes said the DPP directions are awaited in the case.
Judge Deirdre Gearty remanded the defendant on bail on condition he be of good behaviour, reside at 20 O’Moore Place, remain of sober habits, obey a curfew and sign on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Portlaoise Garda Station.
He was remanded on bail to appear again before Portlaoise District Court on October 13 for DPP directions.
