House burgled and car broken into in Portarlington

Gardaí are appealing for information following the burglary of a house in Portarlington

The burglary took place at the property on Cushina in the town on Monday, September 22 between 10.30am and 12 noon. 

The culprit, or culprits, are thought to have accessed the property through a rear back window. 

Gardaí said that while the house was ransacked it is not clear yet whether anything has been taken.

Separately, a car was broken into at Portarlington Train Station on a date between Tuesday, September 16 and Sunday, September 21.  Gardaí said the passenger door of the car was damaged. The car was rummaged through and a small quantity of cash was taken.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious or who has information in relation to either incident is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
