Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal in relation to an attempted knifepoint robbery that occurred in Portlaoise last weekend.
A woman was approached by a man armed with a knife who demanded money as she sat in her car on the Mountmellick Road between Glenregan and O’Moore Place estates in Portlaoise on Saturday, October 4 between 7.50 pm and 8.30pm.
Gardaí said a substantial amount of CCTV footage has already been gathered as part of the ongoing investigation. However, they are making one final appeal to the public for assistance.
“Anyone who was driving in the area at that time and who may have dash cam footage - even if you believe it may seem insignificant - is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station at 057 8674100, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111. We would also ask for anyone that passed by that location at that time to make contact with us,” Gardaí said.
They said that all information will be treated in the strictest confidence. Anyone with information can contact Detective Garda Padraic Ryan Portlaoise 057 8674100.
