Portlaoise District Court
A man appeared in court for stealing buzzball drinks from shops in Mountrath.
Kevin Dillon, (31), of Whitehorse Lodge, Flat 2, Mountrath, was accused of stealing Buzzballz alcohol cans valued at €29 from Spar Express, Limerick Road, Mountrath, on February 23, 2025 and taking €5 worth of Buzzballz alcohol from the Emo Filling Station, Portlaoise Road, Mountrath on September 24, 2024.
Solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick told the sitting of Portlaoise District Court that her client was now a full-time carer for his aunt. She said he had brought the sum of €30 to court.
Judge Susan Fay fined the man €300 for each of the two thefts. She gave him six months to pay the €600 fine.
